Text Without Context Is Pretext.

As a war veteran of the jungles of SE Asia, and other places with problems, I have an insight added to my experiences that most people don't have. I've seen, smelled, heard, touched, (intellectually and physically), have given chase, and have BEEN chased. There have been very many situations that I prayed for help and salvation and have received it. And I give all Glory to God!
Of course there is an old stance held by those who are urged either by themselves or by other influences to question authority. **By the way, I always question authority!** The truth of the matter is, Ellen G White was a member of the fallen family of mankind and as such, she was a "Sinner" like the whole of the human race and was not perfect. That said, she was indeed, in thought, and in practice a true Christian, living the life that she was chosen to lead after contemporaries refused the calling of an end-time Prophet. She refused the moniker of "prophet" and stated so time and again. She passed EVERY test of a prophet as outlined in the Bible and fell nothing short of it. Using the writings of disgruntled and offended people who have agendas of their own or have someone else's agenda, can hurt feelings and does not make a bonafide case for the accusation of false prophet.
For instance, I do believe that Ellen G White once wrote that wigs, as worn in the manner that was common in the 1600's to 1900's could lead to a form of mental illness not unlike the appearance of insanity. Here is a well known problem common to wig-wearers of that period: It was standard operating procedure to have a "Parting" once every 2 to 4 weeks by either a qualified hairdresser or a trusted family member or friend with tight-lips in order to save face in public. The procedure involved removing lice, roaches, mice, rats, and even the occasional snake from the wig while it was still on the person's head. This was a very disturbing time for all involved. Also consider the time and pain inherent in securing these voluminous catch-alls that had to be tied very tightly to one's natural hair and scalp. Just the strain of having your hair and scalp being so tightly secured to your head can have quite serious medical and mental side effects, not to mention the ripping of the scalp due to this process and the smaller "unseen" fauna and flora present on one's body. This was a very real concern for those choosing to live this lifestyle. If memory serves, she was vilified for making statements like this even though medical history bare's this out.
I recommend to everyone looking for truth in life that they "look" for themselves in the KJV or NKJV Bible for the closest and purest path to the Textus Recepticus, or Receptus, depending on your flavor, to Sola Scriptura, or Scripture Alone. These two Bibles are the closest to the Received Text as you will find.
Let us not forget the physical "mandate" that the Bible requires of it's true prophets, such as no breathing while in vision, eyes are to be wide open with no blinking, and exceptional non-human strength, etc. Ellen White always met this mark and never contradicted the Bible, at least not the King James Bible.
As far as I can see in her writings, I am unable to find a "Lie". Remember that the "Golden Rule" states; "Text Without Context Is Pretext". There are no secrets about Ellen G White, only Pretext.

Very Great Reference Text

I think this book serves a useful purpose in that it brings together in one easy and ready reference some of the most important blunders, contradictions, false teachings and silly ideas found in Ellen White's inspired testimonies. For people who have read Ellen White's works and for those who have not, this book is an invaluable single reference tool that you can take anywhere with you. Importantly, the author has grouped his references according to subject matter, which is an added advantage to this text. I would recommend it to all Adventists and non Adventists interested in studying the teachings and writings of Ellen White. Buy it and read and share it with others! You will be glad you did.

FALSE TEACHING #6: CHRIST WILL CEASE HIS WORK AS AN INTECESSOR
Mrs. White said,
• ''Those who are living upon the earth when the intercession of Christ shall cease in the sanctuary above are to stand in the sight of a holy God without a mediator". (The Great Controversy, p. 425).
• "When Jesus ceases to plead for man, the cases of all are forever decided. This is the time of reckoning with His servants" .(Testimonies for the Church, Vol. 2, p. 191)

FALSE TEACHING #28: JESUS’ BONES WERE BROKEN ON CALVARY
Mrs. White said,
• "... the disciples bore the mother of Jesus from the scene, that she might not hear the crashing of the nails as they were driven through the bone and muscle of his tender hands and feet" (Spiritual Gifts, vol. 1, p. 58, written in 1858).

Many are not aware that even many of the "good" things she said in her writings were stolen from other authors and not given to her by God in a vision. If people want to still run around declaring her a "prophet" that is there right to do so. It is also the right of people to read this book and get to know a true look at the ministry of Mrs. White and make an informed decision about her writings. Did any of her prophecies fail? YES. Who was the mysterious "young man" that kept appearing to her in her visions? A SPIRIT GUIDE. Did she copy from Mormon writings? YES. Was she kind to others? NO. Did she eat clean and unclean meats after forbidding others to do so? YES. Does any of her writings contract the Bible? YES. Did she ever contradict herself? YES.
